With a contract expiring at the end of the season, Mohamed Elyounoussi looks set to leave Southampton once the campaign comes to an end.
That’s regardless of whether the Saints stay in the Premier League or return to the Championship, and also despite him starting 75% of possible league games, with 28 appearances and one assist.
The 28-year-old seems set on a new experience, which could be in Turkey, if Fotospor are to be believed.
The Turkish outlet report that Besiktas have ‘contacted’ the Southampton player, with the player’s agent being asked about what Elyounoussi’s demands would be should he be interested in moving to the Süper Lig.
Said discussing is said to have been ‘positive’, even if there was no direct talk of numbers when it comes to the Norway international’s potential contract.
Either way, it seems the Southampton man is on his way out of St Mary’s in the coming weeks and months, and Besiktas are making their first moves to ensure they get him.
