Besiktas are plotting a move for Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet this summer.
The Super Lig side have already seen their goalkeeper Fabri leave the Vodafone Park and join the newly promoted Premier League club Fulham. Şenol Güneş’ side are in the market to find a replacement for the Spaniard.
According to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the Turkish club have already had contact with the Merseyside club ‘about a possible transfer’ for the former Sunderland man.
The 30-year-old lost his place in the Reds’ starting lineup to Loris Karius last season. However, the German shot stopper struggled to impress and his errors in the last season’s Champions League final against Real Madrid saw him being subjected to heavy criticism.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already strengthened the goalkeeping position by signing Alisson Becker from AS Roma for €70m. The Brazilian’s arrival will see Mignolet drop further down the pecking order, meaning his playing time will be limited if he continues at Anfield.
In the Turkish media, it’s Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina who has been more linked with Besiktas.
