Earlier today, we covered a report from Tuttosport that made it very clear that Nikola Vlasic wanted to leave West Ham United for Torino.
The Croatian player was said to have screamed (perhaps not literally) his exit demands at the Hammers and David Moyes, and it appears they listened.
We say this because Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that the deal taking the player from West Ham to the Serie A side is moving along nicely.
Torino are ‘closing’ the arrival of the former CSKA Moscow star, who is set to arrive in Italy ‘on loan with the right of redemption set at €15m + €3m in bonuses’ while the player will earn a ‘net salary of €2.5m’ for the season.
This allows West Ham to potentially make a big chunk of their initial expenditure (around €30m) back, although it certainly isn’t guaranteed.
He’ll have to perform well to convince Torino to spend that much, as seen by their reluctance to spend €15m on Dennis Praet this summer after a positive loan from Leicester, but either way, it allows the Hammers to get an unhappy player off their books, even if temporarily.
