Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez is about to leave for Saudi Arabia, according to Wednesday’s reports.

French outlet Foot Mercato today writes that Al Ahli are now ‘closing in’ on signing the 32-year-old this summer.

Following the website’s initial report claiming there was a €20m offer to get Mahrez from Manchester City, it’s now said there’s a ‘total agreement’ for the move.

Al Ahli will be ready to welcome him with a four-year contract, and the ‘formalisation’ is expected to be very quickly, with all parties on board with the operation.

The deal is being done following an acceleration ‘in these last hours’, and it’s now said to be more and more imminent.

Mahrez got the world football’s attention following the historic Premier League title with Leicester City, and joined Manchester City on a €67.8m deal in the summer of 2018.

In his five years playing for Pep Guardiola’s side, the Algerian star had 78 goals and 59 assists in 236 appearances.

He’s now set to leave the club with four Premier League titles, as well as last season’s Champions League trophy.
