Real Betis sporting director Ramón Planes, and CEO Ramón Alarcón are ‘taking advantage’ of a trip to England to negotiate with West Ham United over a potential double deal.
That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say that the Spanish side are still negotiating a potential sale of Luiz Felipe as well as discussing a possible deal to sign Pablo Fornals.
The newspaper explains that the Betis directors are current in the UK for pre-season and are taking advantage of that trip to meet different clubs and representatives to discuss transfer business.
They are currently at St. George’s Park, two hours from London, and intermediaries and scouts have already been travelling from the capital and beyond to meet and watch their clash with Monaco. It will be the same on Saturday when they take on Middlesbrough in Chesterfield.
West Ham are one club they are in dialogue with, with the Hammers interested in defender Luiz Felipe and talks over a possible move to the London Stadium ‘still in force’.
They have slowed down in recent days but the interest from the Hammers is there nonetheless and it’s something Planes and Alarcón will be discussing during their time in England.
On the flip side, they have been exploring a potential deal to sign Fornals from West Ham this summer, with Manuel Pellegrini a big fan of the player after working with him during his own time in charge of the Hammers.
That is ‘not an easy operation’ for Betis to get over the line but they have ‘probed’ West Ham about a possible transfer, nonetheless.
Perhaps there is a double deal there to be agreed between the relevant parties and we’re sure both Planes and Alarcón are doing just that as they take advantage of their summer trip to the UK.
