It appears that Galatasaray don’t just want Roberto Firmino on a free from Liverpool, but are also targeting a second player from the Anfield side, according to A Spor.
That man is Naby Keita who, just like his Brazilian counterpart, is available on a free as his Reds contract will not be renewed
Bought by Liverpool for €60m, the midfielder has been nothing short of a flop under Jürgen Klopp, with a lot of it down to constant injuries hindering any chance of regular game time.
The 28-year-old will leave at the end of the season, and Galatasaray are already at work to bring him in alongside Firmino.
It’s said that the Turkish side’s deputy chairman, Erden Timur, ‘sat at the table’ with the agent of the 28-year-old to try and sort something out, as they try and build a competitive squad for next season’s Champions League.
Whether they manage to get Keita on board remains to be seen, but they are doing their best, and perhaps getting the two players to feature together again after their respective Liverpool stints could work in their favour.
