Last week, Serie A side Roma seemed like the frontrunners in the race for Manchester United fullback Alex Telles, with claims saying José Mourinho wanted the signing this summer.
However, things have been changing a little, with reports on Monday morning claiming that Inter Milan joined the race for the 28-year-old as well. And now this rumour seems to be growing.
A story from Tuttosport backs that up as the Nerazzurri look for a replacement for Achraf Hakim, they should now ‘challenge’ Roma in the battle for the Manchester United player.
Telles played for Inter Milan on loan from Galatasaray in the 2015/16 season, so the chance of a comeback to the club is now considered, especially because of the ‘good relationship’ between them and the Red Devils after recent deals.
Inter Milan’s interest was also reported by Sky Italia (via Inter News) today. It’s been claimed the club continue to look for cheap options, mostly of loans with buying clauses, and that’d be the case if they go for Telles.
It also turns out that reports from Uruguay and Brazil have now also been claiming that Roma found a deal for the signing of Matias Vina from Palmeiras. In case that’s confirmed, that’s their signing for the left-back position done, and the Nerazzurri probably getting an easier path for Telles.
