For the past few days, reports coming out of Italy have stated Aston Villa are trying to get ahead of AC Milan in the race for Universidad de Chile’s Darío Osorio.
The Serie A winners have made an offer of €5m and the Villans are planning to make a proposal higher than this to sign the winger. This was reported by TuttoMercatoWeb on Monday.
The latest claims have explained Universidad de Chile have rejected Milan’s offer. Deportes13 relay this and give their take on Aston Villa.
It’s claimed Unai Emery’s side and Tottenham Hotspur are the ‘great candidates’ to sign the Chile international. In order to secure his services, the Premier League clubs will have to table a ‘succulent offer’.
Deportes13 state Universidad de Chile are demanding €10m for Osorio and it was deemed too high by the Rossoneri. Aston Villa wanting the attacker is discussed in England.
AS in Chile relay it and add the South American club expect news in the ‘next few hours’. Although they wanted to retain the star, Universidad de Chile know Osorio’s sale could be accelerated if they receive a ‘good economic offer’.
Over at Calciomercato, they insist Milan are still in the picture for the player. They state Osorio’s employer are demanding more than €5m as they are ‘aware of the interest’ from Aston Villa.
Universidad de Chile also know Emery’s side can offer a better deal than Milan to sign the wideman in January.
To sum it up, the Chilean side know Aston Villa are interested and are capable of paying a higher fee than Milan. They want €10m to sanction his sale and there could be news on this case in the next few hours.
