Brazilian side Palmeiras are interested in the signing of Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes, according to reports from Brazil.
Globo Esporte writes that the Verdão have the player ‘on their radar’, as their performance analysis department currently monitor him.
Despite starting the season with Villa, Wesley is currently having a loan spell at Brugge, where he was expecting to get more minutes following his knee surgery, but that hasn’t happened.
Now even though his deal with the Belgian side runs until the next summer, Globo Esporte says his staff are currently working to get him released from the club, then analyse the offers on the table.
It’s also claimed that Aston Villa are interested in giving Wesley the chance to recover his old form, and that’s why they ‘do not oppose’ to his return to Brazil next year.
The striker joined the Villans on a €25m deal in 2019, and had six goals in 26 appearances prior to his knee injury.
At Brugge this season, he only managed to make six appearances, so a change of clubs would sound reasonable at this stage.
