Las Palmas have ‘advanced negotiations’ with Manchester City to take youngster Maxi Perrone on loan for a second season.

That’s according to journalist César Luis Merlo, with the two sides working on another loan deal that won’t include an option to make it permanent.

Perrone spent last season on loan with the Spanish side, joining them in August 2023 after his move to Manchester City in an €11m deal in January that year.

He is very much seen as one for the future at the Etihad and so was sent on loan to Spain in the hope he could secure regular playing time and start to establish himself in Europe.

He managed that, featuring in 29 games in La Liga for La Palmas last season and 50% of the available minutes overall.

Several reports in Spain have made it clear that Las Palmas would like to extend the loan into a second year and Merlo reports they are in advanced negotiations to do just that.

According to his information they are talking to Manchester City about another loan deal that would not include an option for the deal to be made permanent.
