Even though the rumours around the future of Grêmio star Everton Cebolinha went quiet for a while, it seems his situation may be sorted pretty quickly following the latest developments.

The Brazilian press has been claiming that Benfica and Everton have both been in touch for his signing in the past few days.

And according to UOL, the winger may be ruled out of the Porto Alegre derby between Grêmio and Internacional tonight.

Even though the Tricolor officially claim that Everton Cebolinha is available for the match, UOL’s sources state he trained with the reserve team, and may be taken out of the squad during the day.

The rival clubs are facing each other for the State championship semifinal, and it would be a big deal for Grêmio’s best player to miss such an important match.

According to UOL, Grêmio ‘officially’ confirm that there are negotiations with Benfica, and ‘admit’ they’ve received an offer from Everton for the player. It’s the Portuguese side who are said to be ‘ahead’ in the negotiations.

Earlier today, UOL also claimed that Toffees’ manager Carlo Ancelotti spoke to Cebolinha on the phone. They’ve also said that Everton’s bid for the winger is ‘similar’ to the one made by the Eagles, but the player would rather move to Portugal due to easier adaptation.
