Arthur Masuaku was not included in David Moyes’ plans this season and that saw West Ham United allow him to go out on loan to Beşiktaş.
The Turkish club have an option to buy him.
The left-back has made 12 appearances this season, managing two assists in the process. His performances haven’t convinced Beşiktaş and they are looking to cut short Masuaku’s loan stay in January.
Two days ago, Fotospor said negotiations have started between West Ham and the Süper Lig side to find a new club for the 29-year-old, since the English club don’t want to have him back.
Beşiktaş’ desire to let go of the DR Congo international is also echoed by NTV Spor. Their manager, Şenol Güneş, is not convinced with the West Ham owned player. Therefore, Masuaku is expected to leave the club in January.
This could be made difficult by a specific clause in the defender’s contract. NTV Spor state the Black Eagles have a compulsory purchase option, and it will be activated if Masuaku makes 25 appearances for them this season.
In this event, Beşiktaş will have to pay €2.2m to West Ham and tie down the fullback to a three-year contract.
