A couple of weeks ago, we saw Band host Neto claiming that Palmeiras midfielder Raphael Veiga would move to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of the year.
In his show Donos da Bola, the former player claimed to have the information that the midfielder would be sold once the Brazilian season is finished.
At the time, we explained that Neto isn’t a journalist, but seemed very sure about the claims he made in public TV, even though he admitted he could be wrong in the end.
It turns out that when speaking on Radio Bandeirantes (via Torcedores) this week, he was back on saying that Veiga will move to Wolves, unless something specific happens.
The midfielder is currently at Brazil’s national team camp, and according to Neto, a great performance there is what could collapse the transfer to Molineux, as he could end up drawing the interest from other European clubs.
“I already gave the information and I will give it again. Next year, Raphael Veiga will not stay at Palmeiras. He goes to Wolverhampton,” Neto told Radio Bandeirantes.
“Veiga, after this call-up, if he blows up I don’t think he’ll go to Wolverhampton, I don’t know if he’ll go to a bigger team. Next year he will (leave).”
Following the recent rumours, Raphael Veiga was asked about his future in a press conference this week. There, he admitted that moving to Europe is a dream of his.
