Milliyet claim Galatasaray defender Serdar Aziz rejected a chance to join Stoke City in the transfer window.
During the transfer window we covered claims from Turkey that Aziz was a target for Stoke City, but Milliyet now report the player turned down a chance to join the Championship club.
The Turkish newspaper claim that during talks between the two clubs for Badou Ndiaye, Aziz’s name was being thrown about.
Stoke City were reportedly ready to offer him a €2.8m per year contract for four years, a big deal for the player, but Aziz rejected this he wants to stay at Galatasaray.
According to Milliyet, Galatasaray are now not looking to sell him because they need defenders for the upcoming season when they will be looking to defend their Super Lig title and compete in the Champions League.
However, the Istanbul club may be tempted to sell him next summer if he plays well in the Champions League.
