Over the past few weeks, the Italian media have stated Victor Osimhen favours a move to the Premier League, where Chelsea are keen.
Last week, Corriere del Mezzogiorno reported a move to Chelsea is ideal for the Napoli star, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea are making progress to sign the striker in the summer window, according to Area Napoli.
The outlet had a chat with journalist Rudy Galetti, who insists there has been some sort of an agreement between the 25-year-old and the Blues.
He has again insisted the Nigeria international’s firm desire to make a switch to England in the next window.
“Manna arrived yesterday and the discussions are all on standby. Osimhen gave the informal OK to Chelsea. There are still some details to discuss but the Nigerian wants to go to the Premier League and not to other leagues,” he said.
Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis is requesting a hefty fee to sanction Osimhen’s sale, which Chelsea aren’t willing to match. The journalist says the Blues are trying to lower the fee by including some of their own players as part of the deal.
“The agreement with Osimhen is now finalised while the English are trying to include players to lower the clause. De Laurentiis is making a wall and is stuck on the €130m,” Galetti explained.
With the former Lille man keen on making a switch to the Premier League, Chelsea have to find a way to convince De Laurentiis.
Osimhen has managed 11 goals and four assists from 31 games this season.
