Manchester United are about to ‘define an agreement’ for PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo, after chasing him in the summer.
That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who says Manchester United’s management are ‘ready to please’ Erik ten Hag with further transfers in January.
With the World Cup around the corner and a break of over a month on the cards, the Red Devils’ focus ‘begins to shift’ more and more towards the winter market.
The club are ready to ‘strike another blow’ at Ten Hag’s request and the focus of their attention is Gakpo.
He’s been in fine form again this season, with 13 goals and 16 assists in 22 games in all competitions so far to continue his superb performances from last season.
That saw him heavily linked with a move away from PSV in the summer, with the player confirming that Manchester United were keen at the beginning of the window.
A deal never happened but Galetti explains that Manchester United remain keen and are ‘about to finalise’ an agreement with PSV for the player.
There’s no mention of the figure they are willing to pay or the nature of the negotiations, just that United are ready to finally seal the deal and get another of their summer targets, albeit six months after first targeting him.
