If the latest news to come out of Morocco is to be believed, then Liverpool are in a good position to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.
The midfielder was one of the standout performers in the World Cup in Qatar, and while they were unable to clinch the third spot, the Morocco squad made their entire nation and continent proud.
Already a target for clubs before the competition, Amrabat’s list of suitors has grown exponentially, with Liverpool seemingly determined to beat everyone to it.
It had already been reported that Jürgen Klopp had met with the player’s agents to discuss a potential transfer, and Lions de L’Atlas in Morocco are reporting the Reds have a ‘head start’ on the competition.
Amrabat ‘appreciated the speech’ from Klopp, and means there is now a ‘clear inclination’ towards a move to Anfield from the player’s part.
In fact, Liverpool have ‘let it known’ they will ‘make a €45m offer’ to Fiorentina to try and convince them, which is expected to meet what the Serie A side want to let him go.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of all this, but it’s clear that Amrabat is expected to have a choice to make about his future sooner rather than later.
