Jorge Mendes has offered James Rodriguez to no fewer than seven clubs this summer as he looks to secure his client a move out of Everton this summer.
That’s according to journalist Diego Rueda, who provided an insight into the situation around the Colombian for Caracol Radio’s El VBar.
Rodriguez has been heavily linked with a move away from Everton this summer, particularly after Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to re-join Real Madrid.
It’s believed Mendes is working on a deal, with Italy and AC Milan, in particular, looking likely to be his next destination.
At the minute, that’s yet to happen, but there is a growing feeling that it will at some point, and Rueda says Mendes is working hard on that front.
He revealed that the super-agent has offered the Everton star to AC Milan, Sevilla, Roma, Zenit St Petersburg, Paris Saint Germain, Atletico Madrid and Ajax this summer, but so far none have ‘shown any real interest’.
“Sevilla asked for him to have him with Lamela, but James said no, and now Sevilla don’t want him,” Marca Colombia report him saying.
“Milan entered the bidding, but it’s more Mendes who wants to place him wherever to get the best out of him, but if it’s Milan, he won’t take him, but the relationship can help.
“Roma are not saying anything, Mou has not asked for him, but they have the same agent.
“They are offering him. Offers were sent to Milan, Sevilla, Roma, Zenit St Petersburg, PSG and Atletico Madrid. It’s only the agent’s offer. The last team they offered him to was Ajax in Holland.”
In the meantime, Rodriguez continues to feature for Everton in pre-season, a fact that has caused some confusion on Merseyside.
With reports that Rafa Benitez does not want the player and those in charge at Everton are looking to make a move happen, there are those that have questioned why Rodriguez has been a regular over the last few weeks.
It seems that, though, is another ploy from Mendes in his efforts to make a transfer happen this summer.
“Mendes has asked Everton to play all the pre-season games to give him more room for negotiation,” added Rueda.
“Milan don’t want to pay the £200,000 he is earning at the moment. They would ask James to sign a clause to control him speaking on media and platforms without the team’s authorisation.”
