Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport has a feature on Napoli’s two potential big sales of the upcoming window.
It’s claimed the Serie A club have set firm asking prices for both Allan and Kalidou Koulibaly, of €60m and €100m.
Everton of course get a mention, and it’s reported Carlo Ancelotti’s side offered ‘more or less €50m’ to take Allan in the winter market. That offer was rejected, with it being claimed Napoli are sticking to their valuation.
This feels like more work from Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, he’s already made efforts to convince the Italian media Manchester United offered €105m for Koulibaly last summer, and that’s used to insist there’s still a high asking price.
The Brazilian’s supposed price tag has been all over the place over the past year, going as high as €80m and dropping to around €40m.
Everton won’t offer €60m, and it’s got to be questionable they offered €50m, given their lack of funds in January.
Should Ancelotti continue to press for the signing then a fee around €40m looks reasonable, regardless of what De Laurentiis tells his local media.
Napoli are planning for both transfers, and sending out messages of confidence to Italian journalists.
