Raúl Jiménez could have his days numbered at Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to La Opinión.
The Mexico international has been out of action since the end of August and has received permission from the Premier League side to work on his recovery in his home country.
Jiménez has not been at his best since he recovered from his skull fracture, suffered in 2021.
His form, injury concerns and competition for a place in the starting XI at Molineux could see the 31-year-old look for a move away from the Premier League side. Wolves, for their part, are open to his exit as the report states they could ‘get rid of him’.
Having come up through the ranks of Club América, earlier reports indicated that a return to the Mexican club would be on the cards for the Wolves player.
These claims continue to surface.
La Opinión state Club América are insisting on signing the frontman, who has a ‘foot and a half out of Wolverhampton’.
Club América’s board of directors have urged the president, Santiago Baños, to ‘do everything in his power’ to bring the player back to the club. ‘This possibility seems close’, meaning a potential deal could take place in the near future.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens to Jiménez’s future after the Qatar World Cup.
