Arsenal are in the mix with other clubs in the chase for Leeds United star Raphinha.

The winger’s priority is to join Barcelona, while his other suitors continue to press for his signature. That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who explain he is ready to make an effort to make a switch to the Camp Nou.

It’s claimed the 25-year-old is willing to wait for the La Liga side and is ready to give up ‘a lot of money’ as financial proposals from other clubs, including the Gunners, are much higher than what Barca can offer him.

The Brazilian international, for now, has not entertained any offers he has on the table, as his firm desire is to join Barca. However, he wants to know whether the Catalan club will bet on him.

With Arsenal the among clubs in the picture for Jesse Marsch’s man, they are urging the player to decide his future, so that they can plan for the new season, with or without him. Raphinha is not able to take this step since he isn’t sure if Barca will make an approach for him.

To find out more about the situation, the Whites attacker’s agent, Deco, will travel to Spain to meet Blaugrana officials.

Leeds, for their part, are calm as they have not received any formal offer for their player. At the same time, they are aware of Premier League interest.

Only Mikel Arteta’s side are tagged as today, Arsenal would be the ‘most determined’ side to take the step to sign the South American.

Meanwhile, Sport state Arsenal and other Premier League sides have come forward with offers, both to Leeds and the wideman.

Deco’s presence has stopped the onslaught from England as the agent keeps his client away the English clubs. The ex-Chelsea man has given his word to Joan Laporta [Barca president] and Mateu Alemany [director] that Raphinha will wait for the Spanish giants.

Another report from Sport explains Barcelona are set to have a meeting with Leeds. The main objective of this summit is for Xavi Hernández’s side to convince the Whites to lower their asking price from €50m.

The Camp Nou side’s idea is to try to close the deal for €40m, if necessary, by including some of their discarded players.

Having an agreement with Raphinha gives Barca an advantage when negotiating with Leeds.

This, plus player’s desire to join them has stopped Marsch’s side from creating an auction for the Brazilian.

Whether that is enough to convince Leeds remains to be seen.
