Celtic’s Josip Juranović impressed for Croatia at the World Cup and his fine displays in Qatar attracted attention of clubs across Europe.
AC Monza are among them, and this was reported by TuttoMercatoWeb a week ago. They have now taken further steps to sign the right-back, likely in January.
That’s according to Sportitalia, who explain there was a meeting scheduled between Celtic and the Serie A side on Thursday to ‘define the operation’ for the 27-year-old’s transfer.
Over at TuttoMercatoWeb, they state the Croatia international is ‘one of the great goals’ of Monza CEO Adriano Galliani.
A few top English clubs are seriously interested in the Celtic player, while Espanyol have made a concrete offer to Ange Postecoglou’s side to secure the fullback’s services.
This has seen Galliani act.
The report states Galliani now ‘wants to step up the pressure’ to land the defender. It’s explained the Italian club’s chief is preparing an offer to sign Juranović on loan with an obligation to buy set at €7m plus bonuses.
If Monza were to make this offer, TMW don’t mention whether or not Celtic will accept it, but it certainly seems on the low side.
