Torino have resumed talks with West Ham United for Nikola Vlašić, according to La Stampa, relayed by Toro News.

The attacking midfielder joined the Serie A side on loan with a buying option set at €15m. His good start to the season saw Torino open talks with the Hammers to exercise the option.

These talks cooled down after his overall performances this year raised concerns over the Turin club retaining him. That no longer seems to be the case after the West Ham owned player impressed in recent times.

The ‘dialogue restarts’ between the Hammers and Torino after the Croatia international has changed the latter’s mind to retain him.

It’s claimed Torino technical director Davide Vagnati has ‘picked up the phone again’ to hold talks with David Moyes’ side about the 25-year-old, but the Italian club ‘need to speed up’ because the deadline to exercise the buying option expires on June 1st.

Torino are planning to make several changes to their squad in the summer, and they will only move for someone ‘as indispensable’ as Vlašić is as he could ‘represent the continuity of the group’ under Ivan Juric.
