Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Giovani Lo Celso has been widely discussed for several weeks.
Wednesday’s reports from Spain suggested Real Betis want €75m for the Argentina international and Spurs have no intention of meeting his asking price.
Thursday’s edition of Sport claims the English club made a €50m bid and ‘do not intend’ improve the offer for Lo Celso.
It’s claimed Betis are looking for a fee of €60-70m and will have to make a decision whether to accept Tottenham’s proposal or wait for better offers.
Sport says the Spanish side would prefer to wait, but they don’t have the luxury of time since they will need funds to make new signings.
Betis have already signed Nabil Fekir, who would be Lo Celso’s replacement.
Sport claims the ‘greatest interest’ in the player is from Tottenham.
The transfer window in England will close in two weeks and Betis president Angel Haro now has difficult decisions ahead.
