Earlier this month, Club Brugge CEO Vincent Mannaert admitted his side will look to bring in a new striker in the winter market and since then, the Jupiler Pro League winners have been linked with a handful of players.
Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke was identified as a target, but his desire is to continue in London.
Therefore, Club Brugge have shifted their focus to Liverpool’s Divock Origi and are looking to take him on a loan deal. That’s what Voetbal 24 reported on December 10th.
Another report from the same website once again relays their earlier claims about the Reds striker, who has played only seven minutes in the Premier League this season.
It’s further claimed Club Brugge may be in danger of losing the Belgium international to Royal Antwerp, who are also looking at the 25-year-old.
According to Voetbal 24, Antwerp ‘plan to seriously strengthen’ their attack, and hence, a new striker may come to the club in January.
The report further adds Mannaert will have to ‘act quickly’ if Club Brugge wants to sign the Liverpool player next month. If not, as per Voetbal 24, Origi [may] ‘threaten to move to another top Belgian [Antwerp] club’.
