Ever since he signed for Chelsea from Napoli, Jorginho has been linked with a move back to Italy, regardless of how important he has been for the Blues.

Said move has never taken place, however, as the player has remained at Stamford Bridge, where his contract is due to expire in the summer.

Talk of a renewal has gone on for quite some time now, with his agent openly talking about more times than we can count, and TuttoMercatoWeb reveal the latest on the matter on Wednesday.

They state Chelsea are ‘working to lock down’ Jorginho, and ‘contacts continue for the extension’ of his expiring contract.

In fact, the belief is there ‘could soon be a meeting’ between all the involved parties to try and get it all sorted, with the midfielder not impacted by the World Cup, since Italy never qualified for it.

It’s stated the ‘sensations are positive’ about Chelsea managing to keep their man, regardless of whether Barcelona are lurking for a free transfer.

Either way, the Blues are ‘working hard to not lose one of their most important players’, and a conclusion to this endless saga could soon happen.
