On July 31st, Diario de Sevilla reported that Jules Koundé is getting nervous about his move to Chelsea because the Blues are struggling to get a deal done with Sevilla for his transfer.
The west London club have ‘shown their intentions’ to sign the defender and it’s ‘normal’ for them want to acquire his services for a lower price, according to ABC Sevilla.
It’s claimed the La Liga side would consider studying the centre-back’s sale if there’s an offer close to €60-65m.
These figures are something the Champions League winners have ‘not considered reaching’, even by including one or more of their own players in the operation.
Although Chelsea ‘will not give up’ in their efforts to sign the Frenchman, Sevilla are ‘trying to make a strong effort’ to not let the former Bordeaux man leave for a figure that’s lower than what they consider he’s worth.
As things stand, there’s no official talks between the two clubs for Koundé. The report adds that ‘once there is a formal negotiation, the cards will be put on the table and the player’s environment will press to leave’.
This indicates that Sevilla expect the ‘formal negotiation’ to begin with Chelsea at some point and once both parties put their cards on the table, there could be more updates on this case.
