Tottenham Hotspur’s struggles to find an agreement with Atalanta for Cristian Romero has made them look at other centre-back options in the market.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who state negotiations with Atalanta are ‘proceeding slowly’ and Spurs have identified Nikola Milenković as an ‘alternative’ to Romero.

It’s said the Fiorentina defender is ‘less expensive’ and also appreciated by Fabio Paratici.

The 23-year-old has entered his final year of contract and has no plans to sign an extension because the centre-back ‘wants to leave Fiorentina’ this summer.

Over at La Nazione, they state the Serbia international is expected to part ways with Fiorentina and only the centre-back’s next destination is left to choose.

Regarding offers, the report states ‘only the Tottenham one has arrived’ at the Serie A side.

For Fiorentina to give a ‘green light’, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side ‘need to put a nice package’ on the table to reach the €20m demand set by the Italian club.

La Nazione suggest the €20m figure could be reached with bonuses so that all parties involved are satisfied.

Paratici and Tottenham, however, must be aware of Juventus, who could try to make an approach for Milenković in the coming days.
