Chelsea and Real Madrid are both looking to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
The FA Cup winners have Thibaut Courtois as the first choice goalkeeper, but the Belgium international has one year left on his contract and a renewal doesn’t seem close.
Courtois has set his sights on joining Real Madrid this summer, according to various reports. Meanwhile, the Spanish capital club has made AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker a top goalkeeping target, he has reportedly agreed personal terms to join the Champions League winners.
However, the La Liga giants and Roma have not agreed a fee. Chelsea are also believed to be interested in Alisson as they believe the Brazil international can replace Courtois as their first choice keeper at Stamford Bridge.
Alisson is a part of the Brazil squad that has made it to the quarter-final of the 2018 World Cup. The 25-year-old’s agent Ze Maria Neis claims his client is focused on the ongoing Fifa tournament and the goalkeeper’s future will not be resolved in the “next few days”.
“Nothing will happen in the next few days. Alisson is 100% focused on the World Cup,” Ze Maria Neis told Tele Radio Stereo, as quoted by Tutto Mercato Web.
TMW add that Chelsea want to complete the signing of Alisson, but ‘nothing will happen’ until the World Cup is over.
