When you’ve been as successful as Diego Simeone has with Atlético Madrid, it’s fair to say a certain confidence builds.

His side are currently top of La Liga, four points clear of Barcelona after 27 games, and face Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Ahead of the clash against Thomas Tuchel’s men, the Argentine manager held a press conference, as is standard procedure.

What isn’t, however, is revealing some of your plans before the game, something Marcelo Bielsa recently did and then regretted.

Either way, speaking to the media on Tuesday, Simeone confirmed that Joao Félix ‘is going to play from the start’, also hoping that Luis Súarez, who is on an unwanted streak of failing to score away from home in the Champions League, will find Wednesday as ‘the right day to cut that streak they are talking about’.

Furthermore, he explained Atlético have prepared to face Chelsea by training two systems, ‘to see which is more appropriate’ for the game.

He said, relayed by Mundo Deportivo: “After the first leg, we have found situations to improve. We don’t know how they are going to raise their game, but we are clear about what we want, which is to win”.

So, we now have it confirmed that both Félix and Súarez will start tomorrow, meaning there’s something there for Tuchel to prepare for.
