Chelsea and Tottenham ‘would be willing to bid’ for Barcelona winger Raphinha, who could be put up for sale this summer.
That’s according to Sport, who say the Brazilian knows that he needs to take a step forward at the Camp Nou or be put on the market.
The newspaper explains that younger Lamine Yamal is increasingly becoming the first-choice player on the right-wing for Barcelona and thus pushing Raphinha out of the way.
He is aware that he has four months to prove his worth or the Blaugrana club will put him on the market to recover the investment they made to sign him from Leeds.
At the moment all paths point to him being put up for sale, with Barcelona needing sales to help balance the books and ease their current financial problems.
Despite his struggles in Catalunya, Barcelona believe that Raphinha is a footballer who still has fans in the Premier League and several teams have him among their lists of potential signings.
Indeed, the newspaper reports that Chelsea and Tottenham in particular ‘would be willing to bid’ for the Brazilian should he be put up for sale.
Both clubs were in the mix for him when he was leaving Leeds, particularly Chelsea, but he went to Barcelona instead. It seems their interest has not waned since that point, though, and they’d be ready to move if he becomes available.
That would be surprising given the number of players Chelsea already have on their books in his position and the fact that Tottenham spent big on Brennan Johnson last summer, but it’s the belief at the Camp Nou, nonetheless.
