As Chelsea target Mike Maignan continues to get pursued by European sides, Calciomercato now shares a fresh update on his situation at AC Milan.
The outlet today highlights the ‘real threat’ from Bayern Munich, as the Bundesliga side are said to have a strong interest in his signing.
Still, Chelsea, who were ‘concretely interested’ in signing Maignan last summer, are said to still be keen on the 28-year-old.
Calciomercato claims that the Blues ‘remain vigilant’ about the goalkeeper’s situation, even though there’s a lot of competition to get him signed, as well as Milan trying to renew his contract.
The problem for Chelsea and other interested parties is that the Rossoneri are said to be demanding over €100m for his sale, and have him well protected with a deal running until 2026.
The good news is that Maignan and his staff are expecting a huge offer from Milan for the renewal, and in case the Rossoneri can’t afford his demands, there is then a chance he could be sold in the upcoming transfer windows.
This is a situation that needs to be monitored, but it does sound like it could be a push from agents trying to get the Serie A side to meet what they want.
