Rafael Leao isn’t having a smooth season at AC Milan and it now seems as if Chelsea would be prepared to bring him to England in the summer.

The Portuguese has ten goals and nine assists in all competitions but he continues to face criticism from fans, amidst a lack of consistency in his performances.

Daniele Longo has reported Leao’s release clause of €150m is proving to be a problem for the Rossoneri, as potential clubs aren’t prepared to match this figure.

As a result, there is an understanding that a lesser figure can be enough and that is where Chelsea come in.

The Blues have been evaluating their move for months now and are keeping a close eye on the wide player.

While Milan ideally want to keep their asset,  Chelsea are going to ‘exploit’ their relationship with Leao’s agent Jorge Mendes to move for the Portugal international.

Enzo Maresca’s side know that Milan will not negotiate any offers below €100m and that is the minimum fee they need for a sale.

There is also interest from Saudi Arabia, but Chelsea can certainly make their move soon.
