Given Premier League players have been kept at home for the past week, it’s now fair to say they’ve been having plenty of time to give interviews.

Chelsea winger Willian had already spoken to Esporte Interativo in a live chat on Wednesday morning, and he’s since appeared on Sportv.

He’s been invited by ‘Faixa Especial Sportv’ to talk about his situation in England, since things have developed way faster in Europe than in Brazil.

“We know the more we stand still, the more we lose physical condition. I’ve been home for six days, I don’t have much structure to do the exercises I wanted to do,” Willian told Sportv.

“Even in my building there’s a gym, but I can’t go there to do it, I have to stay indoors. It ends up making it a little difficult, but I think it will be good, we have to think about people. If everyone does their part well, it will be over.”

Asked about how people in England have been dealing with the problem, Willian said: “The English people are being supportive. It’s a difficult time for everyone. People are starting to stay indoors, a lot of things are being closed, schools will also stop. So it’s a time to be supportive of others. I heard that the British army will be patrolling so that no one stays on the streets (Note: that was an internet rumour later denied by the government). It’s an important moment for us and everyone helping is going to be important.”

During the interview with Esporte Interativo yesterday, Willian claimed that Chelsea told players they’d be fined if they left their homes. It’s also been claimed that the squad hasn’t been tested, and they would be back on training on Monday, although that was said before the Premier League announced a new postponement for the games to resume.
