Emerson Palmieri to Chelsea is quickly becoming a thing, even if, just 24 hours ago, Gazzetta dello Sport explained no bid had been made.
That is still the case, but there has been movement, with the very same newspaper stating that both sides have agreed on the €25m asking price, now all they have to do is work out how it will be paid.
Not wanting to spend a lot of money during the January window if possible, Chelsea are set on their idea of a loan for the 23-year-old, with a view to buy at the end of the season if they so wish.
However, that doesn’t suit AS Roma, who appear intent on getting money for the left-back down the line, wanting the view to buy to be a compulsory one so that, regardless of what happens over the next four-five months, they get their €25m.
That could suit Chelsea, although there’s a feeling Emerson Palmieri is probably a stop gap for them now before trying to get someone more impressive for the role in the summer.
Perhaps someone like Alex Sandro?
