Italian newspaper Tuttosport report in their Sunday edition that Chelsea are one of a number of clubs interested in Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The 17 year old is AC Milan’s first choice goalkeeper and the Italian media love linking him with some of the world’s biggest clubs.
Chelsea have no need for Donnarumma given they already have Thibaut Courtois, and it wouldn’t make sense for the youngster to leave Milan and go and sit on a bench somewhere. Lots of the Donnarumma claims fails to make much sense, but Tuttosport insist the interest is there.
On Chelsea, they state the London club have sent a 007 official to check the player out, which is almost certainly a scout. It’s gone from scout to spy to James Bond.
Milan are confident of getting Donnarumma to sign a new contract on his 18th birthday in February, and that’s the likeliest scenario. However, the hype around the player means transfer rumours won’t go away, and Chelsea seen to be a favourite pick.
