On March 4th, we covered claims from Record that there’s growing optimism about Alex Telles moving to Chelsea in the summer.

Tuesday’s edition of A Bola states the Premier League side are attentive to the left-back’s situation at FC Porto, but Chelsea’s priority is to sign Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell.

Telles’ contract with Porto is until 2021 and has a release clause of €40m. The 27-year-old has decided against signing an extension and it’s possible the Portuguese side will consider selling him in the next transfer window for €30m.

Apart from Frank Lampard’s side, Barcelona are also looking at the Brazilian. With the La Liga winners also dragged into the mix, the newspaper states it’s possible that there could be an auction for the fullback.

Lampard’s first choice is to sign Chilwell, but Chelsea face a problem in bringing him to Stamford Bridge. He has a contract with the Foxes until 2024 and it’s stated Chelsea will need to spend €85-90m for the England international.

A Bola adds ‘Leicester live days of financial ease’ and will keep the asking price high, when it comes to dealing with Chilwell’s potential transfer.

Therefore, the west London club could go for cheaper alternatives like Telles and Marc Cucurella. The latter is currently on loan at Getafe from Barcelona.

Getafe have an option to make Cucurella’s deal permanent and he would be available for €25m in the summer.
