Chelsea have ‘recently contacted’ Lille for Victor Osimhen and Gabriel Magalhães, claim Le10 Sport.
The Blues signed Eden Hazard from the Ligue 1 side in 2012. Since then, the relationship between the two clubs has been ‘very good’, even though the leaders at Lille have changed over the years.
Frank Lampard’s side are one of the clubs ‘interested’ in the forward’s profile, and Osimhen has 18 goals and six assists in all competitions this season.
There has been suggestion the Covid-19 crisis has cooled Chelsea’s potential transfer plans, but the report states the reality is ‘completely the opposite’
Arsenal agreed to pay Lille €80m [club record sale] for Nicolas Pépé last summer and the French club could ask for a fee higher than €80m for Osimhen, which seems ambitious.
During conversations with Lille, Chelsea also took information about Gabriel, who is a transfer target for Everton.
Le10 earlier reported the Toffees are in pole position for the centre-back, but they are now stating the Brazilian has not yet made a decision on his future.
Apart from Chelsea and Everton, Leicester City and Arsenal are in the race for Gabriel and it’s claimed the Foxes are ready to offer more than the Merseyside club for the Brazilian.
Chelsea have only asked Lille about Osimhen and Gabriel and it remains to be seen if they will convert their initial discussion into an offer for either of the players.
