Earlier on Thursday, we covered a story from France claiming that Chelsea were thinking about terminating Tiemoue Bakayoko’s contract early.
The French midfielder is currently on loan at Milan, but that really hasn’t worked out for him, as he has yet to feature for Stefano Pioli this season, which is the second year of the deal struck in 2021.
Milan have been trying to get rid of him, and a previous report stated the player had been offered to RB Salzburg.
The idea would have been for the Serie A side to cancel the loan and Chelsea to free him so he could sign elsewhere, and this is being backed up in Italy.
Calciomercato have an article on the matter on Thursday claiming that both Milan and the Blues have ‘taken a common decision’ regarding the defensive midfielder.
It’s said the two sides are ‘ready to release’ the player ‘on a permanent basis without demanding a compensation’.
For Chelsea, that would be the early termination of his contract, meaning he would be a free agent when that happens, while Milan would get rid of his wages and not ask the Blues for money to do so early (as can often happen with early loan terminations).
What happens after that remains to be seen, but there are two requests from Turkey for him: one from Adana Demirspor, and the other from Galatasaray.
The former of the two are managed by Vincenzo Montella and ‘do not give up’ on the idea of signing Bakayoko, trying to convince him to accept a move.
