The current situation of Tiemoue Bakayoko leaves a lot to be desired, as the midfielder is on loan from Chelsea at Milan where he isn’t getting a single minute of game time.

The idea, which was put together in 2021, was for him the player to spend two years with the Serie A side, during which he would be play a lot, with the move then made permanent.

Unfortunately for Chelsea and their player, that’s not how things worked out, and there has been a lot of talk about the deal potentially being cut short.

It started last summer, but that never happened, and it has spilled into the January transfer window, only made worse by the fact Stefano Pioli refuses to play him.

That’s why there has been talk of Bakayoko potentially heading to Turkey, although that particular move never enthused him all that much, and we are now seeing a door in Austria potentially being opened.

The news comes from Media Foot in France, who claim the Chelsea loanee has been ‘offered’ to RB Salzburg.

The Austrian side are looking for a ‘big reinforcement’ this winter, and while the situation ‘has not evolved’ for now, the ‘offer is on the table’.

Meanwhile, it reiterated that Milan chiefs are ‘in talks to cut short his loan’, while Chelsea are ‘considering terminating his contract’.

That would make him a free agent in January, and therefore allow him to negotiate his next move, to Salzburg or elsewhere, with less pressure.
