Despite a setback at the weekend, Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos is reportedly ready to join Vasco da Gama on a loan deal.
The move is reported by Globo Esporte, who says this ‘soap opera’ has come to an end and the player is ready to sign the contract today.
Since the talks with Palmeiras collapsed, Chelsea had already accepted to loan Andrey back to Vasco.
The problem had been a debt that the Rio de Janeiro side had with the player himself.
That issue was solved during the weekend, and the midfielder’s staff immediately gave the green light for the move to be concluded.
Globo Esporte writes that other clubs had been making approaches for the player, but he chose to return to the club who he left in December.
He already has a house to stay close to the training centre there, and is also used to play with that squad, which means he won’t need a big adaptation.
Andrey is initially being loaned to Vasco until the start of July, with Chelsea paying his full salary.
That’s a very short spell, and as Globo Esporte even had a story about how many games can he play in that period, with that number potentially reaching a maximum of 16.
