As the Andrey Santos saga goes on, Vasco da Gama really stand as favourites to sign the midfielder from Chelsea.
The Rio de Janeiro club are negotiating to have the player on a loan deal, and they’re now said to have the support from his family for the transfer.
According to UOL, some of the player’s relatives, including his fiancée, prefer that he moves from Chelsea to his former club.
Vasco da Gama accepted most of the Blues’ requests for the loan. They’re fine in letting him play the U-20 World Cup in May and June and have no problem with the London side calling him back in early July in case he gets the work permit by then. That hasn’t been accepted by Palmeiras, who pulled out of the deal.
Now what the Cruzmaltino must settle is a debt they have with Andrey, as they owe him and his staff 30% of the money paid by Chelsea for the transfer. UOL say there’s ‘optimism’ there’ll soon be an agreement about that, and it sounds like a matter of time until the loan is confirmed.
