Tuesday was an interesting day in the Fikayo Tomori saga, as soon after claims a deal was done emerged, others suggested that wasn’t quite the case.
Gazzetta dello Sport made it clear that while Milan were still planning on buying the Chelsea defender from the Blues, they were attempting to lower the €28m price.
That wasn’t sitting well with Marina Granovskaia, who rejected their first attempt, and it now appears, at least from the perspective of the same newspaper, that the Serie A side will cough up the pre-agreed money.
Corriere Dello Sport, down their end, have something very similar, believing the official announcement of the England International’s exit from Stamford Bridge could arrive ‘already today’, with Milan paying the ‘necessary €28m’.
To us, that sounds like the move is just around the corner, and it might be best for Chelsea fans who aren’t that keen on seeing the young defender leave to start bracing themselves.
