Over the past few days, we’ve seen an uptick in Milan’s seriousness to get a deal done for Hakim Ziyech, currently at the World Cup with Morocco.
He has starred for his country, and that’s despite him barely playing under both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter at Chelsea since the start of the season.
The international tournament has helped him showcase his talent, and it appears Milan have taken note, with Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday rather optimistic about a deal being struck.
This comes ahead of Morocco playing Portugal in the World Cup, where the Chelsea player will be facing Rafael Leão, who so happens to be a target for the Blues.
It’s now believed that after a lot of flirting, the project of bringing Ziyech to Milan ‘can go through in January’ as the Serie A side also try and renew the Portuguese.
It’s made clear that it’s a ‘matter of timing’, and whoever gets knocked out ‘will in fact be the first to confront’ the Italians in talks.
The idea from Milan would be to sign the Chelsea player on an ‘onerous loan immediately and the right to buy in June, with a total cost of around €15m’.
It’s pointed out he ‘can lower his salary’ to make the move, and ‘wants to relaunch himself in Italy’ going forward, knowing full well that is only a bit part player at Stamford Bridge these days.
