Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi’s ‘decline continues unchecked’ at Bayer Leverkusen as his loan spell continues to falter.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the forward has ‘missed his chance’ with the German club and won’t be staying beyond the end of the season.
They explain that he had moved to Leverkusen on loan at the end of August to get playing time away from Stamford Bridge and started well before falling out of favour amid the likes of Florian Wirtz, Amine Adli and Karim Bellarabi returning to the squad.
With Patrick Schick also set to return on Friday that will mean another place in the forward line being taken and it has left Hudson-Odoi with a ‘supplementary player’ role at best.
He ‘did not make use’ of the chance to prove himself last week in the clash with Bochum and was substituted at half time after a poor display.
His future is now ‘open’, with a place at Chelsea unlikely given their spending since the summer.
He was once the subject of a €50m interest from Bayern Munich but that is long gone and he has ‘stagnated’ in the years since.
Now he is a substitute at Leverkusen and ‘will return to England’ in the summer before likely moving on from Chelsea as he ‘doesn’t have a place’ there either.
