Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech has shared his delight at being back in the Morocco set up following his exile under former manager Vahid Halilhodzic.
Ziyech is set to be a part of Morocco’s fixtures during this international break, having been called up by new manager Walid Regragui.
He hasn’t featured for his country since last year, with his last appearance coming in the 1-0 win over Burkina Faso in June.
His absence from the team came about as a part of a disagreement with Halilhodzic, who had criticised the Chelsea star publicly, leading Ziyech to temporarily retire from international duty.
The manager was sacked in August, though, opening the door for Ziyech to return and add to his 40 appearances so far.
That’s something he is very happy about, sharing his delight to the Moroccan Football Federation website in a discussion about their upcoming games and the World Cup in Qatar in November.
“I’m happy to be back after all these problems. I am ready to give everything,” Soccer News report the Chelsea man saying.
“They are two important and also interesting matches, also because they are the only ones ahead of the World Cup.
“They are very important matches for us as a team to see where we stand, especially with the new coach. There are new ideas and a new staff. It’s good to see how far we are.”
