With Chelsea still not getting a work permit for Andrey Santos, the Brazilian media continues to speak about the possibility of his return to his home country.
An interesting update is now brought by journalist Samir Carvalho, who says the player made a choice regarding his future.
It’s claimed that Corinthians, Palmeiras and Vasco da Gama all became interested in signing the midfielder from Chelsea on a loan deal.
And even though Carvalho mostly covers Corinthians, he brings some bad news for their fans, claiming Andrey has ‘chosen’ Palmeiras.
The problem now is that Chelsea’s intention would be to loan the player until next summer. That’s just four months, and since the Brazilian season runs on a different calendar and has just started, it doesn’t make any sense for clubs to sign for that little time.
So Palmeiras will only change their mind in case Chelsea loan the player until the end of the year. Otherwise, he’s set to stay at Stamford Bridge, and the only wait to get a work permit would be his appearances in the U-20 World Cup in May.
