Chelsea will allow Thibaut Courtois join Real Madrid only after they bring in a replacement for the Belgium international.

Spanish newspaper AS claims the possible signing of the 26-year-old ‘enters its decisive days’ because the transfer window in England closes on August 9th.

If the FA Cup winners manage to sign a new goalkeeper, then the former Atletico Madrid man will move to the Santiago Bernabeu for €35m.

The shot stopper has made it clear he wants to return to Madrid because he is keen on spending more time with his children, who live in the city.

Julen Lopetegui has enough options in the goalkeeping position as he has the services of Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla and Andriy Lunin, which is why Real Madrid are calm about Courtois’ situation at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea custodian has one year left on his contract and Maurizio Sarri has some of convincing the player to sign an new deal, but Courtois is ‘adamant’ he wants to join Real Madrid.

If the English club does not sanction Courtois’ sale, it’s stated he’ll join Real Madrid as a free agent next summer.
