Tuesday was a day full of stories on Chelsea’s attempt to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan, as the Blues seem serious in their quest to buy the striker this summer.
Now the last updates on this saga are brought by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims that the Stamford Bridge side are set to raise their bid for the 28-year-old.
On his website, the reporter writes that Chelsea first had an offer of €100m, plus the transfer of Marcos Alonso, turned down by Inter Milan.
Now the Blues are set to return ‘in the coming hours’ with a new bid, which this time could reach €120m, perhaps still including other counterparts.
Di Marzio claims that in this scenario, the move would depend on Lukaku’s will to return to Stamford Bridge or not. It’s once again highlighted that he’d have a big pay rise in case he accepts the move.
The story even mentions a ‘post Lukaku future’ for Inter Milan, as they could go after the likes of Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata and Lazio’s Joaquin Correa to replace the Belgian star.
