Catalan newspaper Sport seem to be hoping Chelsea would consider helping Barcelona this summer in a similar way to what happened between the Blaugrana and Juventus just under a year ago.
Arthur Melo moved to Turin and Miralem Pjanic went the other way in a deal which worked out at a book value of around €70m for each club. Unfortunately, when transfers are conducted nearly purely for accounting purposes, rather than what a manager asks for, they often don’t work out so well.
Sport report interest from the Camp Nou in Chelsea’s Jorginho, and, yes, you’ve guessed it, they’ve suggested Pjanic could be used in the deal. That would see the Bosnian treated again as something of a commodity, and his view on the idea isn’t shared.
Neither is that of Chelsea or Jorginho, and it’s quite likely the Blues would be against the idea. Whilst Jorginho’s agent speaks nearly every week about a potential future transfer, it’s Serie A almost always on his mind.
